“Let no man despise your youth….. “ ___ Apostle Paul
The above quote was from a mentor to his mentee. That is a priceless counsel that someone out there may need even now. Today many get themselves put down by others or allow their circumstances to keep them down. No matter your circumstance or station in life, allow no one to despise or think less of you because of your status, age, gender or color.
Constance White, the Editor –in-Chief of Essence magazine wrote.” Perhaps it is human nature to sometimes diminish what is ours. But when we do that, we rob ourselves of the joy and satisfaction that comes with appreciating our blessings .At worst, we inflict deep wounds on our psyches, because the only way to be truly happy is to accept and value what we have.”
I love it, when Job told his friends, “everything you know, I know, so, I’m not taking backseat to any of you; I am not inferior to you.”
You are not inferior, therefore place value on yourself and regardless of what is and what is not, what have or what have not, celebrate. I’m not saying celebrate mediocrity but your little achievement. Do not despise the day of small beginnings. Stop thinking less of yourself.
- Celebrate life
- Celebrate who you are
- Celebrate what you have
- Celebrate every landmark
And, Arise [from the depression and prostration in which circumstances and people have kept you – rise to a new life]! Shine [be radiant with the glory of the Lord], for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you!
Place value on You and celebrate You!
