I heard the Preacher preached today, and he said among many other things, “Prayer is not complaining or comparing… ” That “comparing” caught my attention. I have heard many people pray thus – “God please do it for me as you did for Joe or Jane” and I must confess, I too have been caught in that trap sometime. My thought now is this -Indeed, how are you sure whatever they have, is from the same God, you, are appealing too. May be you have been wasting time praying to the wrong God who is not the source of their coveted miracles. Many miracles we claimed are from God are for most part man made/ organized/ orchestrated. Don’t get me wrong, God will not come down from heaven to do anything for you without using men, but still, who is the source or what power behind the so called miracle you are using as a point of contact? Do you know for sure? Let us be careful what we ask for.
When next you pray, just find appropriate scripture on which to anchor your prayer and believe God for answer. It may tarry, wait for it!
And we are confident that he hears us whenever we ask for anything that pleases him. And since we know he hears us when we make our requests, we also know that he will give us what we ask for.
1 John 5:14-15 NLT
“Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you.
Matthew 7:7 NLT
